  Swim Instruction

Have you ever thought to yourself...

I am tired of working so hard at going so SLOW! Can you help me swim faster?

In the open-water, I swim off-course and seem to be always out of breath. Can you help?

I'd like to get in better shape and want to swim, but I am not very good.

A private or semi-private session with Karlyn or Eric may be just what you need

Whether you are a BEGINNER, a multi-sport athlete or have been a competitive swimmer for years… we can help you be a better swimmer and can teach you how to swim faster with less effort.

Visitors to the Big Island...get more than just a tan on your vacation

All sessions are customized to meet your needs and tailored to your learning style.

Endless Pool Sessions...SEE yourself swim, while you swim, while we video you! Get instant feedback from the TWO MIRRORS in the pool that will help you make changes even faster since you can see what you are doing in real-time! It’s fun, too. Hours are very flexible since the pool is at our house and is open 24/7. Cost for the initial 90-min session is $125 and includes a mini-swim clinic followed by about 60- minutes of water time with video analysis. Follow up sessions are 1 hour and cost $95

Ironman Swim Course: We KNOW the Ironman swim course well, we swim it all the time! Sign up for the most informatative swim lesson ever. This 90-minutes session will feature: race course familiarization for Ironman, HONU or Lavaman offering suggestions for your starting position, how/where/when to warm up, sighting, drafting, race strategies and more. Session also includes a mini stroke tune-up. Cost is $120 for the 90-minute private session or $75 per person for a semi-private.

Private sessions are available at a variety of locations:

Karlyn and Eric’s Endless Pool (at their home)
Kona Community Aquatic Center (25-yard pool)
Kailua Bay or Kahalu’u (ocean/bay)

Private Aquatic Edge sessions may include:
  • Analysis of current of stroke technique
  • Evaluation of comfort in the water
  • Effectiveness of current breathing technique
  • Emphasis on correct head and body position (body balance)
  • Gradual progression to a more efficient stroke
  • Video taping with analysis
We can also teach you how to:
  • Swim the backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly!
  • Do a flip turn
  • Use the pace clock and do a workout
  • • Learn more than one or two swimming speeds
